Bob Pettit cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and George Van Haltren had a
complete game at West Side Park as the Chicago White Stockings belted the
Washington Nationals by the count of 19 to 9.

Pettit enjoyed a great day at the plate.  He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in
the 3rd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 4th inning.  Chicago
kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning tallying 6 runs and the 3rd
inning with 7 runs on 8 hits.  Chicago managed 17 hits in their victory.

Van Haltren(10-9), allowing 9 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Dupee
Shaw(0-2) absorbed the loss.  He surrended 5 homeruns in his 8 innings.
