Roy Thomas had 4 hits at Exposition Park where the Philadelphia Phillies beat
the Pittsburgh Pirates in 11 innings 3 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Philadelphia came out the victor in the
11th inning.  Shad Barry led off and he laced a base-hit.  Barry was safe at
second on a stolen base.  Two outs later Thomas stepped in and he slapped a
single plating a run.  Philadelphia continued their aggressive style with
another stolen base.  Kid Gleason came up to bat and reached on an error.
Johnny Lush added his contribution to the rally and stroked a one-base hit
scoring the final run of the inning.  Philadelphia ended up with 12 hits for
the game while Pittsburgh had 9.  

Chick Fraser(9-9) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Fred Mitchell earned the save, his 1st.  Patsy Flaherty(4-6) was the losing
pitcher.
