Joe Lake was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Shibe Park as the St. Louis Browns beat the Philadelphia Athletics by
the count of 6 to 4.

St. Louis scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 2 runs.
Jim Stephens led off and keyed the rally when he lined a base-hit.  Lake
followed next and he reached on an error.  One out later, Roy Hartzell then
worked the squeeze play to perfection scoring a run.  Bobby Wallace stepped
in and he reached on an error scoring the final run of the inning.
Philadelphia out-hit St. Louis 9 to 5, but St. Louis ended up with more runs.

The winning pitcher was Lake(3-11) who allowed 4 runs for the game. The loss
was charged to Cy Morgan(9-6).  He pitched 9 innings and surrendered 5 hits
and 3 walks.
