King Cole pitched a complete game shutout and Wilbur Good had 2 base hits at
Washington Park where the red-hot Chicago Cubs beat the Brooklyn Superbas by
the score of 1 to 0.

Cole(7-3) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 4 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from
2.59 to 2.32. Chicago managed only 3 hits on the afternoon.

Doc Scanlan(4-6) took the loss. It was a tough loss for him as he did not
allow an earned run in his 9 innings of work.
