Gene Conley racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts and Roy McMillan
had 3 base hits as the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by
a score of 4 to 3.

Conley(4-8) gave Brooklyn a solid outing.  He went 7 and 1/3 innings
surrendering 8 hits and 2 walks.  Philadelphia-AL tried unsuccessfully to
come back in the 9th.  

Ray Narleski gained credit for his 7th save.  Virgil Trucks(0-5) was tagged
with the loss.  Conley was pleased with his performance.  He noted, 'I had
good command of all my pitches.  Just as important, my location was right
on.'
