Bill Sweeney reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts and Emmett Seery had 3 base
hits and 2 RBI at Belair Lot as the Baltimore Monumentals beat the
floundering Kansas City Cowboys in 10 innings 10 to 9.

The score was tied at 9 after nine.  Baltimore won it in the 10th inning.
Henry Oberbeck lined a single.  Seery stepped up to the plate and he reached
on an error.  Eddie Fusselback then lined a one-base hit making Baltimore the
victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Baltimore managed 15
hits in their victory.  

Sweeney(20-12) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 9 runs. Dick
Blaisdell(0-3) absorbed the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 10
runs in 9 innings.  

Bill Henderson was asked about the performance of Sweeney, 'He had his good
stuff out there this afternoon.  The fans really get into it when the
strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more
adrenalin.'
