John Clarkson completed the game without help from the bullpen and Cap Anson
had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Chicago White Stockings rallied impressively to
win in dramatic style over Buffalo Bisons, 10 to 9.

Chicago won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs utilizing 2
base hits. Abner Dalrymple led off and keyed the rally when he laced a
single. Dalrymple took second on a stolen base. George Gore was next to
bat, but he was a strikeout victim. King Kelly followed and he drew a walk.
Anson came up to bat and drew a walk to load the bases. Fred Pfeffer joined
his teammates in the uprising and ripped a single driving in two more
baserunners. Chicago finished with 19 hits in the victory.

Clarkson(28-8) got the victory, allowing 9 runs for the game. Billy
Serad(6-14) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 19 hits and 5
walks in 9 innings.

Anson was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office after the
game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just sat there
in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating wildly, and
the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
