Larry Twitchell tossed a complete game and Dan Brouthers hit a homerun and had
2 RBI as the Detroit Wolverines beat the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 16
to 9.

Twitchell(9-1) pitched well for Detroit in their victory.  He went 9 innings
surrendering 10 hits and 3 walks.  Detroit kept the scorekeepers busy in the
5th inning when they had 6 runs on 7 hits.  The Detroit offense poured it on,
scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  

Old Hoss Radbourn(10-14) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed a few too many
