TEAM RISP- Athletics: 3 for 15 Colonels: 2 for 4

Ed Seward allowed Bill Sharsig to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Henry Larkin had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Athletics
defeated the Louisville Colonels 7 to 6 at Eclipse Park.

Louisville never recovered after Philadelphia took the lead in the 6th inning
when they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was
provided by Larkin who quieted the crowd when he ripped a base-hit plating
two runs. Louisville threatened in the 9th but Philadelphia was able to put
down the rally.

Seward(15-12) lasted until the end allowing 6 runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Guy Hecker(6-6). 'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,'
Mordecai Davidson said. 'It's bad enough when the other team beats you, but
when you start beating yourselves, that's really bad.'
