Bobby Lowe rocketed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times and Kid Nichols allowed
Frank Selee to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Boston
Beaneaters defeated the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 10 to 4 at League
Park.

Lowe had a big day with his bat.  He blasted a solo shot in the 1st inning,
cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 4th inning and
tripled in the 5th inning.  Boston rapped out 17 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Nichols(14-10) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Lem Cross(0-2) took the loss.  He served up 4 gopher balls in 9 innings.

'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Lowe said.  'We
played well together as a team.'
