WEB GEMS- Bot 9th: Mike Griffin robbed Dan Brouthers of a Homerun!

Billy Shindle had 3 base hits and Ed Stein was able to finish what he started
and was credited with a complete game as the Brooklyn Grooms beat the
Louisville Colonels by a score of 2 to 1.

The game was won by Brooklyn when they scored a run in the 9th inning. John
Grim drew a walk. Dave Foutz then called for a steal which was successful.
One out later, Mike Griffin then hit a deep fly scoring the run. Brooklyn
and Louisville each finished the afternoon with 7 hits.

The win went to Stein(5-7) who allowed 1 run in the game. Gus Weyhing(1-8) was
charged with the loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an
earned run in his 9 innings of work.
