Tom Jones had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Baker Bowl as the New York-NL Giants beat
the Philadelphia-NL Phillies by the count of 14 to 5.

New York-NL started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first when they tallied 4 runs on 5 hits.  New York-NL bats were very
productive in the 1st inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits and the
3rd inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits.  New York-NL had 24 hits
overall, while Philadelphia-NL had 7.  

Jake Weimer(9-6) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Fred Glade(5-12)
was the loser.  He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 8 runs in 2 and
1/3 innings.
