George Browne had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Huntington Ave Grnds where the
Boston-AL Americans beat the Washington Nationals 9 to 5.

Boston-AL brought 3 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with
the help of 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Buck Freeman who
brought the crowd to their feet when he doubled plating two runs.  Boston-AL
ended up with 11 hits for the game while Washington had 8.  

The win was credited to Joe McGinnity(8-13) who went 7 innings allowing 5
runs. Al Orth preserved the game for McGinnity, recording his his 1st save.
Earl Moore(8-7) was hit with the loss.  He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 8 runs in 7 innings.  

Boston-AL now has a record of 36-55.  With the loss, Washington has a record
of 5-5 lately, 45-46 overall.
