WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Bill Sweeney robbed Johnny Evers of a base hit.

Left fielder Jimmy Sheckard had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Mordecai Brown went the
distance at South End Grounds as the Chicago Cubs beat the pitiful Boston
Doves 15 to 10.

Chicago tallied 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they had 5 base hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Harry Steinfeldt who silenced South
End Grounds as he hit a single bringing in two baserunners. Chicago kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning with 4 runs on 5 hits. Even though they
scored in 6 different innings, Boston was not able to pull off the win.

The victory went to Brown(10-5) who went the distance allowing 10 runs. Tom
Tuckey(2-5) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around by Chicago, allowing 19
hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
