Shortstop Buck Herzog slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at South End Grounds as
the St. Louis Cardinals lost a heartbreaker to Boston Rustlers by the score
of 5 to 4.

Boston won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Patsy Flaherty reached on
an error. Orlie Weaver was next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. After
another out, Fred Tenney then ripped a base-knock giving Boston the win as
1,903 happy fans joyfully celebrated. Boston finished with 7 hits in the
victory.

Weaver(1-10) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Roy
Golden(9-8) was the losing pitcher. When questioned, Tenney remarked, 'It's
been a while since a win felt this good - heck, it's been a while since we
had a win period!'
