Vic Raschi carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the St. Louis Cardinals
defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 7 to 0 at Sportsman's
Park.
Raschi(13-5) was simply too much for the Boston batters. He allowed just 1
hit and 1 walk in 9 innings. The right-handed Raschi had his no-hit bid
broken up by Marv Rackley who singled with two outs in the 7th inning. The
pitchers took over after the 1st inning as neither team was able to score
again.
Mickey McDermott(1-3) absorbed the loss. He allowed 7 runs and 8 hits in 1
