In a close game the Pittsburgh Pirates got by the Washington Nationals in 10
innings by the score of 6 to 4.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Pittsburgh
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  Dale Mitchell led off and started
the rally when he drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Bobby Thomson came
to bat and bombed a two-run dinger.  Pittsburgh won despite being out-hit by
Washington 13 hits to 9.  

The win was credited to Eddie Erautt(4-6) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
The losing pitcher was Bob Kuzava(1-1) in relief.
