Al Kaline had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cleveland Indians defeated the New
York-AL Yankees by the score of 7 to 3 at Municipal Stadium.
In the bottom of the 5th inning Cleveland scored 4 runs. The biggest moment
was provided by Randy Jackson who came through for the home fans when he
belted a three-run homer. Cleveland banged out 8 hits on the night.
Johnny Klippstein(6-6) went 5 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Klippstein
got relief help from Don Mossi who gained credit for his 5th save. Vern
Law(7-4) was charged with the loss. He allowed Cleveland 6 runs in 4 and 2/3
innings of work.
