WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Dave Orr robbed Guy Hecker of a base hit.

Third baseman Heinie Kappel had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Mark Baldwin was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at Eclipse Park
as the blistering-hot Columbus Solons beat the ice-cold Louisville Colonels
11 to 3.

Louisville never recovered after Columbus took the lead in the top of the 6th
inning scoring one runner. Columbus simply wore out the Louisville pitching
staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Baldwin(11-14) allowed 3 runs on the game. Red Ehret(4-9) ended up with the
loss. He was unable to control the Columbus offense and allowed 15 hits and
6 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.

Columbus continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 7 games and
counting. 'We've really come alive lately,' Al Buckenberger said. 'We won
some tough games and I feel real good about this ballclub right now, and
hopefully we'll continue the roll we're on.'
