Jack Stivetts completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Boston
Beaneaters defeated the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 14 to 7 at League
Park.

Boston took the lead for good in the top of the 6th inning when they scored 4
runs on 5 hits.  Boston lit up the scoreboard in the 6th inning which saw
them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning with 5 runs on 4 hits.  Boston
had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

The victory was credited to Stivetts(15-5) who went the distance, allowing 7
runs. Ice Box Chamberlain(8-7) was the loser.  He was touched for 17 hits and
5 walks in 8 innings.
