Third baseman Jim Doyle had 3 base hits and Doc White tossed a complete game
at Washington Park as the Washington Nationals lost a heartbreaker to
Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 3 to 2.

The game was won by Brooklyn with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Jimmy Walsh banged out a single.  White stepped up next and he drew a walk.
Eddie Collins then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Doc Miller followed and he
lashed a single making Brooklyn victorious to the delight of the the home
town crowd.  Brooklyn finished with 9 hits in the victory.  

White(5-15) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. George
Chalmers(2-4) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning and
surrendered 1 hit and 3 walks.
