John Clarkson tossed a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters defeated the
Chicago Colts by the score of 10 to 7 at South Side Park.

Chicago fell behind quickly as the Boston offense came through in the first
inning scoring 4 runners on 2 hits.  Both teams totaled 12 hits on the
afternoon.  

The win went to Clarkson(17-8) who allowed 7 runs in the game. Ad Gumbert(7-5)
took the loss.  He was knocked around by Boston, allowing 12 hits and 4 walks
in 9 innings.
