Frank Killen had a complete game at Exposition Park where the Pittsburg
Pirates beat the Boston Beaneaters 8 to 6.

Pittsburg jumped on top to stay in the 6th inning plating 2 runs. Killen
opened up the inning nicely when he reached on an error. After an out was
recorded, Denny Lyons came to bat and doubled. Harry Davis then reached on
an error which scored a run. Mike Smith came up and he hit a deep fly
scoring the final run of the inning. Pittsburg rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon.

Killen(11-9) got the victory, allowing 6 runs for the game. Ted Lewis(9-7) was
the loser. He surrendered 10 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Killen, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
