1,897 fans were treated to a fine game at American League Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Cincinnati Reds won by the
slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Cincinnati won it in
the 13th inning.  Jimmy Barrett lined a single.  Fritz Buelow stepped up to
the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Dick Padden then doubled
scoring the run.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th
inning.  

The victory was credited to Ed Siever(4-3) who went 3 innings, allowing no
runs. Bob Ewing(4-10) was given the loss in relief.
