1,378 fans watched an exciting game at American League Park.  The Brooklyn
Dodgers topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 2 to
1.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Brooklyn came out
on top in the 10th inning.  Eddie Collins drew a walk.  Mike Etters then
called for a steal which was successful.  Two outs later Harry Steinfeldt
came to the plate and ripped a one-base hit scoring the run.  The teams had
been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.  

The win was credited to Charlie Smith(11-5) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Jack Coombs(7-3) was hit with the loss in relief.  

The Brooklyn ballclub's record now stands at 44-38.  With the loss Washington
now has a record of 51-31.
