First baseman Heinie Zimmerman connected with a 'big fly' as the Washington
Nationals beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 6 to 3.

Washington scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they had 5 base
hits. The critical plate appearance was by Larry Doyle who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he launched a three-run homer.
Washington and Brooklyn each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.

Bill Steele(7-9) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Steele got help
from Gene Krapp who was credited with his 6th save. Harry McIntire(4-11)
ended up with the loss in relief.
