The Cincinnati Reds pitchers essentially took the day off at Redland Field as
the St. Louis-AL Browns offense erupted for 11 runs while George
McConnell(8-4), with relief help from Rube Marquard, surrendered 3 runs to
Cincinnati.

McConnell got the win despite looking shaky at times.  He gave up 3 runs in 5
innings.  St. Louis-AL ended up with 15 hits for the game while Cincinnati
had 9.  

Marquard preserved the game for McConnell, recording his his 2nd save.  Earl
Hamilton(4-2) was tagged with the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and
2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
