Scott Stratton was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Farmer Weaver hit a homerun at Eclipse Park where the
potent Louisville Colonels beat the floundering Syracuse Stars by the score
of 9 to 3.

Syracuse was unable to claim the lead after Louisville went ahead in the
bottom of the 2nd inning with 3 runs on 3 hits. Tim Shinnick led off and he
reached on an error. Charlie Hamburg followed and he doubled. John Keefe
then had one get away for a wild pitch which plated a run. Two outs later
Stratton came to the plate and tripled plating another run. Pete Weckbecker
stepped into the box and singled scoring the final run of the inning.
Louisville had 13 hits for the afternoon.

Stratton(24-4) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Keefe(9-11)
was given the loss. He was knocked around by Louisville, allowing 13 hits
and 3 walks in 8 innings.

With this win, Louisville has a league leading 51-17 record. They have been
7-3 lately. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, Syracuse is 1-9 lately and
21-48 on the year.
