Danny Friend pitched a complete game as the Chicago Colts staged a dramatic
comeback over the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 7 to 6 at West Side
Park.

Chicago scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 3 runs on 3 hits.
Barry McCormick led off and got things going when he singled. Bill Lange
followed and he reached on an error. Lange then lined a single scoring a
run. Lange took his lead and swiped second. Chicago continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base. After an out was recorded, Jimmy
Ryan stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Chicago got their 2nd
stolen base of the inning. George Decker then stroked a one-base hit giving
Chicago the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. This was a
game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing
- 6 times in all.

The win went to Friend(3-4) who allowed 6 runs in the game. Joe Corbett(12-5)
absorbed the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 8
and 1/3 innings.

'That was exciting!,' Lange said. 'I would have paid money to watch this
one.'
