Shortstop Gene Demontreville had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Washington Senators
bested the Cincinnati Reds in 16 innings 9 to 6 at League Park.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Washington was victorious in the 16th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Kip Selbach jump-started the rally as he
delivered a single.  Charlie Abbey stepped up next and he doubled.
Demontreville then ripped a base-knock driving in two more baserunners.  Duke
Farrell was up next and he slapped a base-hit.  Tommy Tucker came up to bat
and smacked a single scoring the final run of the inning.  Washington bats
were very productive in the 16th inning with 3 runs on 5 hits.  Washington
out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 21 hits to 15.  

The victory went to Silver King(7-7) who went 4 innings, allowing no runs. Red
Ehret(6-5) absorbed the loss in relief.  Washington now has a record of
37-29.  With the loss Cincinnati now has a record of 40-25.
