In a good matchup it was the Brooklyn Dodgers 4, the Washington Nationals 1 in
11 innings at American League Park.

The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings.  Brooklyn came out the
victor in the 11th inning.  Harry Steinfeldt led off the inning for Brooklyn
when he doubled.  Roy Thomas came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Tom Jones then delivered a one-base hit plating a run.  Jones took off for
second and slid in with a stolen base.  Mickey Doolin came up to bat and
delivered a single driving in one more runner.  Doolin took second on the
throw.  Bill Bergen kept the inning going and hit a single.  Brooklyn
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base scoring the final
run of the inning.  Brooklyn and Washington each finished the afternoon with
10 hits.  

George Suggs(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. Suggs got help from Charlie Smith who was credited with his 4th
save.  Smoky Joe Wood(3-3) was the loser in relief.  He gave up 3 runs in 2
innings of work.
