The game started off with Boston-NL taking the lead in the first scoring a single run. Dick Egan reached on an error. Willie Keeler stepped up next and he ripped a base-knock. Sam Crawford then drew a walk to load the bases. Jake Stahl was up next and he grounded into a double play scoring the run. Boston-NL simply wore out the St. Louis-AL pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. Gaspar(4-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Lew Richie(3-7) was charged with the loss.
