It was a great finish at South End Grounds as the Boston-NL Braves pulled off
a dramatic comeback beating the St. Louis-AL Browns by the count of 2 to
1.

Boston-NL had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs on
2 base hits.  Jimmy Sheckard kicked off the action when he doubled.  Al
Schweitzer came to the plate and lashed a single, and an error was also
committed, resulting in a run.  Sam Crawford then worked the squeeze play to
perfection making Boston-NL the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration.  Although they lost, St. Louis-AL did out-hit Boston-NL 8 to 3.

The win was credited to Red Nelson(1-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 1
run. Ed Karger(3-4) took the loss.  He pitched 8 innings giving up only 3
hits and 1 walk.

Wth the win Boston-NL now has a record of 38-45.  St. Louis-AL has a record of
35-44 after the loss.
