Buster Brown tossed a complete game at Navin Field as the Cincinnati Reds beat
the Detroit Tigers by the count of 5 to 1.

Cincinnati won the game with a run in the top of the 8th inning.  After an out
was recorded, Davy Jones slapped a base-hit.  Jones took off for second and
slid in with a stolen base.  John Titus followed, but he was set down on
strikes.  Art Devlin followed next and he drew a walk.  Hal Chase came up to
bat and singled scoring the run.  Chase took second on the throw.  Cincinnati
finished with 10 hits in the victory.  

Brown(1-4), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. George
Mullin(0-1) took the loss.  He gave up 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings and saw
his ERA jump from 1.74 to 2.41.
