Elmer Brown allowed George Stovall to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game at Griffith Stadium where the St. Louis Browns beat the Washington
Nationals 7 to 4.

St. Louis scored 6 runs in the decisive top of the 6th inning when they had 6
base hits.  The highlight belonged to Jimmy Austin who helped quiet the crowd
when he tripled plating two runs.  St. Louis had 12 hits for the afternoon.

Brown(6-4) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. Hippo
Vaughn(2-10) ended up with the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 12 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.
