Bob Elliott had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the blistering-hot Cincinnati Reds bested
the Washington Nationals 10 to 4 at Griffith Stadium.

Ray Scarborough(11-6) pitched well enough to earn the win.  He was reached for
6 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings.  Cincinnati kept the scorekeepers busy in
the 3rd inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits.  Cincinnati ended up with 20
hits for the game while Washington had 9.  

Preacher Roe recorded the save, his 18th.  Hal Newhouser(10-6) took the loss.
He saw his ERA jump from 2.77 to 3.18 as gave up 10 runs in 9 innings.

Cincinnati continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 7 games and
counting.
