Right fielder Enos Slaughter smacked 2 triples and had 3 RBI and Warren Hacker
carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Cincinnati Reds outscored the
Washington Nationals 9 to 0.

Hacker(6-4) had a strong outing.  He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1
hit and no walks in 6 innings.  The right-handed Hacker had his no-hit bid
broken up by Billy Martin who singled with one out in the 6th inning.
Cincinnati had 8 hits for the game and Washington had 2.  

Hacker got help from Preacher Roe who earned his 9th save.  Warren Spahn(8-13)
was the losing pitcher.  He allowed Cincinnati 9 runs in 6 innings of work.
