Tom York had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Terry Larkin tossed a complete game as the
red-hot Hartford Dark Blues beat the St. Louis Brown Stockings by a score of
12 to 11.

York was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He laced a single in the 1st inning,
doubled plating a run in the 3rd inning, tripled in the 5th inning and
slapped a base-hit which plated a run in the 7th inning. Due to a poorly
pitched ballgame, scoring in 6 different innings was still not enough for St.
Louis to come away with the victory.

The victory was credited to Larkin(18-9) who went the distance, allowing 11
runs. Joe Blong(1-5) was given the loss. He saw his ERA jump from 3.13 to
3.76 as gave up 12 runs in 9 innings.
