Frank Dwyer completed the game without help from the bullpen and George
Hogriever had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds staged a dramatic
comeback over the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 3 to 2 at League
Park.

Cincinnati had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs utilizing 3
base hits.  Tom Parrott led off and started the rally when he doubled.  Buck
Ewing stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk.  After an out was
recorded, Bill Gray then drew a walk to load the bases.  Hogriever came up
and he delivered a single plating two runs.  Farmer Vaughn came to the plate
and lined a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for Cincinnati and a
raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Although they lost,
Baltimore did out-hit Cincinnati 7 to 4.  

Dwyer(11-5) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Bill Hoffer(14-5)
absorbed the loss.  'We just wouldn't give up,' Hogriever said. 'Much of the
credit goes to our fans - they were with us the whole way.'
