Win Mercer was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and Jim Duncan slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Washington
Senators defeated the floundering Cleveland Spiders by a score of 8 to 2 at
Boundary Field.

Washington went ahead for good in the 4th inning when they came up with 3 runs
on 1 hit.  Washington had a total of 12 hits for the game.  

Mercer(5-9) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Frank
Bates(2-11) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits
and 8 walks in 8 innings.
