Oscar Jones had a complete game at Washington Park as the Brooklyn Superbas
won a thriller over the Chicago Cubs in, 3 to 2.

The game was won by Brooklyn with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Phil
Lewis laced a single.  Charlie Malay stepped up to the plate and he reached
on an error.  Lew Ritter was the next batter, but he struck out.  John Dobbs
came up and he reached on an error giving Brooklyn the win and sending the
home town fans into a frenzy.  Brooklyn had a total of 10 hits for the game.

Jones(5-9), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Mordecai
Brown(11-5) was given the loss.  He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings giving up 10
hits and no walks.
