Casey Patten pitched a complete game at Bennett Park where the Washington
Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers by the score of 7 to 5.

Patten(3-15) gave a fine effort for Washington.  He allowed 11 hits and 1 walk
in 9 innings.  Detroit out-hit Washington 11 to 8, but Washington ended up
with more runs.  

Ed Killian(11-5) was tagged with the loss.  'It's been a rough ride lately,
but this was a good win for us' said Joe Cantillon, 'Maybe this will put us
back on track.'
