The Chicago-NL Cubs and the Detroit Tigers locked up in an exciting one-run
game at West Side Park.  The final score was the Chicago-NL Cubs 6, the
Detroit Tigers 5.

Cy Morgan(4-10) had a solid outing for Chicago-NL.  He was reached for 5 hits
and 7 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.  Detroit made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.  

Morgan got help from Heinie Berger who earned his 4th save.  Ed Walsh(18-11)
was hit with the loss.  'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it'
said Jim Murphy 'But we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
