Orval Overall completed the game without help from the bullpen at West Side
Park as the very potent Chicago Cubs belted the floundering Brooklyn Superbas
by the count of 12 to 2.

Overall(5-4) pitched well for Chicago in their victory. He went 9 innings
surrendering 11 hits and 3 walks. Chicago kept the pressure on throughout
the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Doc Scanlan(8-6) was the losing pitcher. Chicago knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 12 runs in 8 innings. Chicago continued on their recent roll,
their winning streak now reaching 6 games and counting. Chicago's manager was
in a great frame of mind in the clubhouse after the game, 'Everybody's
contributing now. Timely hitting, some slick fielding plays and good
pitching when we need it. Man, when that's happening, this sure is an easy
job!'
