Earl Moore tossed a complete game and catcher Red Dooin hit 2 doubles and had
2 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score
of 5 to 2 at Baker Bowl.

Pittsburgh was unable to recover after Philadelphia went ahead in the 7th
inning scoring a single run on 2 hits. Both teams finished the game with 10
hits.

Moore(12-6) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Howie Camnitz(13-7)
was hit with the loss. He surrendered 10 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

Dooin was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games --
boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a
little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
