Reb Russell was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the struggling Philadelphia-AL
Athletics by the score of 7 to 2 at Shibe Park.
Cincinnati scored 4 runs in the decisive top of the 6th inning when they came
up with 5 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Fred Snodgrass who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he doubled plating two runs. Cincinnati
had 12 hits for the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Russell(13-2) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Ray
Collins(8-9) suffered the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 11 hits and
2 walks in 7 innings.
With the win, Cincinnati continued their winning ways; their streak now stands
