George Baumgardner allowed George Stovall to rest his bullpen, tossing a
complete game as the St. Louis Browns defeated the Washington Nationals by
the score of 12 to 3 at Sportsman's Park.

St. Louis took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring a
single run. Burt Shotton slapped a single. Stovall then called for a steal
which was successful. Bunny Brief then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run.
St. Louis rapped out 17 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Baumgardner(7-6) who went the whole way allowing 3
runs. The losing pitcher was Bob Groom(6-11). He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 13 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
