Del Baker had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Harry Coveleski went the distance as
the Detroit Tigers defeated the Philadelphia Athletics 8 to 5 at Navin
Field.
Detroit had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning with the
help of 3 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Coveleski(17-3)
and Detroit. That was all the run support Coveleski required. Detroit
banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.
Rube Bressler(4-9) suffered the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and
