The impressive Boston Red Sox edged the New York Yankees in 10 innings at
Yankee Stadium by the score of 6 to 5.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston came out on
top in the 10th inning.  After two were out Al Zarilla blasted a solo shot.
Boston totaled 9 hits on the night.  

Nels Potter(5-2) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. The
losing pitcher was Spec Shea(2-3) in relief.  Wth the win Boston now has a
record of a league leading 59-23.  New York will hope that this loss is only
a 'blip' on their recent 8-2 run - and not a start of a new trend.
