Johnny Antonelli lofted one into the 'cheap seats' at Yankee Stadium as the
Kansas City Athletics beat the New York-AL Yankees by the count of 6 to
5.

Kansas City took the lead for good in the 2nd inning scoring a single run.
After an out was recorded, Charlie Maxwell clubbed a solo home run. New
York-AL had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Antonelli(4-8) got the win allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Marv Grissom got the
save, his 12th. Herm Wehmeier(10-1) was the loser. Jim Murphy was beaming
after the game, 'Not only were we making good contact, but a lot of balls we
hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning these tight ones! It was just
our evening - no doubt about it!'
